The Materials

The curious eye and the wise hand of Bertini record on the sheet the "things of the nature", his smallest details and his changes, showing the full dominion of the technique and a high ability of observation.
The images realized in watercolour, sketched with thin brushes, enriched sometimes from white heightening and from read coverages of shiny varnish (perhaps to base of white of egg or of honey or of sugar) confer the layering of the colors and the wet effect typical of any mushroom (for example Ganoderma lucidum, Cortinarius trivialis, Armillaria mellea).
Still legible in many figures, are the light and thin details made with graphite of the underlying drawing and sometimes, under the colored figure, the light lines of a precedent sketch in canceled succession. To sketch completed on any samples has stayed (graffita) breves thin pulls the surface of the hat. The colours has an important role in this act of the nature reproduction: the plasticity of the forms is built from the manifold chromatics variations that space from the almost transparency to the full glut of brown and grey, green and yellow, red and violet.
