An Update on Lawrence, Kansas Lodging for GNSI 2002

A block of rooms has been reserved at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott, 1 Riverfront Plaza, Lawrence, Kansas until 5 PM (CST) July 1, 2002. After that date, room availability and rate cannot be guaranteed. Please make your own reservations and obtain a confirmation number by calling (785) 841-2700. To receive the special conference rate of $72.00 plus taxes for a double/king, mention that you will be attending the GNSI 2002 Conference.

If you share a room, it will effectively make the cost for a room $36.00 plus tax a night for each person. (SpringHill would even accommodate three people in a room, since there is a pullout bed in the suite.) If you want us to arrange a roommate for you, please fill out the appropriate information on the registration form after you make your room reservation. (You will need to register and obtain a confirmation number even if you share a room.) Linda Crane, our housing coordinator, will make the arrangements. You will be notified of your roommate assignment by E-mail or by phone.

Another housing possibility is the Halcyon House Bed & Breakfast at 1000 Ohio Street, which is walking distance to the University of Kansas campus. They have limited rooms, and they are holding them for conference goers until July. The rooms include a room with queen bed and semiprivate bath, double bed with semiprivate bath, a queen bed with private bath, and a king bed with private bath. Families traveling together who have their own transportation and would like a reasonable rate and a swimming pool can contact Days Inn on 2309 Iowa Street at (785) 843-9100. Their rate for a room with double bed is $59.00 plus tax, and $69.00 plus tax for Sat. night stay. Price includes continental breakfast.
