Purpose:  Exhibition

Mushrooms and other Fungi have always held a fascination for me since I was a small child. Isn't it amazing how they spring up overnight? How weird and wonderful. I'm always on the lookout for interesting specimens, wild or in a supermarket bin.

This portobello was a supermarket find. It was large, succulent and interestingly shaped. I only hoped to get it home in one piece and get to illustrate it. I did both,  and here it is!

Scientific names: Agaricus bisporus
