Join the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI) at the Savannah Collage of Art and Design (SCAD) for stunning encounters with nature. Meet fellow artists who showcase nature’s beauty in their work at the GNSI National Conference July 8-14, 2012.
The GNSI is a non profit organization, founded in 1968 to teach the techniques and values of science-based illustration.
This year’s conference will offer presentation sessions reaching back in time to topics like the structure of dinosaurs, touching base with current technology and business practices, and looking forward to what scientific illustration may become. Hands-on workshops will teach both traditional and computer art techniques used in the illustration business.
There will be two juried exhibitions: a small works show and the traditional juried member’s show. So think both small and larger this year! The small works exhibition will be held at the Jepsen Center, a contemporary art museum that is one of the three Telfair Museums. The Member’s show will be shown in the Pei Ling Chan Gallery and Garden for the Arts.
