Now is also a good time to start thinking about the Annual Auction! Each year, our talented and creative members donate objects and items that are useful to artists and illustrators or have a natural history theme or use. Members have contributed books, original art, fine prints, sculptures, and other artistic masterpieces in a variety of media. Practical gifts such as books and artist’s supplies share space with items of dubious practicality yet high entertainment value.
So please consider what worthy generous donations you might have to give to this fine event. And, of course, worthy is used in an entirely inclusive manner here, for this event happily accepts fine art and animal skulls and historic posters and the hand-knitted item with equal glee. The profits from the auction, are split evenly between the Education Fund and the Operating Fund, resulting in benefits for our membership year-round. And, of course, the auction provides the additional grand bonus of high (or perhaps low-brow) entertainment for attendees to the conference as they support our wonderful organization!
If you have any questions about the auction or about items you wish to donate, please contact Auction Coordinator Sara L. Taliaferro at gnsieddirector@gmail.com. You do not need to attend the conference to donate. If you wish to mail items ahead of time, please mail them to:
Kristie Bruzenak, PO Box 6453, 1900 East Victory Drive STE3, Savannah, GA 31404, or
Email her for other possible delivery locations: kbruzena@scad.edu

Wednesday 6:30PM -9PM
Garibaldi Café will be the venue for this year’s conference banquet. A local favorite in historic downtown Savannah, Garibaldi Café is located in the circa 1871 Fire House. Although it has a noble past, its current elegance belies the previous function.
The Savannah Morning News describes the café as “a festive and romantic place to celebrate with food, fun and friends.’
We will be taking over the second floor dining area, originally the ballroom for the firehouse. A beautiful golden space with soaring ceilings and large windows looking down into the city, Garibaldi Café will provide a memorable dining experience.
Wednesday 8:30PM -9PM
Start (or continue) your collection of GNSI trading card art! Create your card (ANY art, not just scientific!) in any medium, original or digital, include your contact information and/or your thoughts, and trade them after the GNSI banquet.
