GNSI DC: January 2002 Meeting Report-
Paleo Exhibit Redesign at the Smithsonian
by Britt Griswold
We had a strong showing of Guild members for the January 2002 meeting. Thanks go to Ralph Chapman and Linda Deck from the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), Smithsonian Institution for their interesting presentations. Each talk described a different facet of the renovation of the Triceratops exhibit at NMNH which reopened in May, 2001. Ralph, a paleontologist by training, runs the Applied Morphometrics Laboratory and Linda is Projects Manager for the Exhibits Department. Ralphs talk: A New Posture for the Horned Dinosaur Triceratops and Lindas talk: Using Cladograms Successfully in an Exhibit: Triceratops at the Smithsonian had both been presented previously at the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology annual conference in 2001. Both talks were PowerPoint presentations full of interesting information and well done visual material.
